Nursing Kit is a first-aid kit that offers a secondary lighting function. We sought a form with which affinities could be easily found, and be an art piece. When it is picked up, the ‘emergency’ first-aid cross lights up. Open it by pushing down on it and turning. It is separated into 3 sections: Sterilization, Medication and Dressing. The ‘lid’ functions as a light, when is taken apart it can be a flashlight. We also design ‘Curvy Scissors,’ ‘Tape Dispenser,’ ‘Tweezers Clip,’ and ‘Medicines Cap.’ Our aim was to take care of the physical and spiritual aspects of health.

The Nursing Kit adds a breath of fresh air to the mundane. If we were to mention the two most innovative items, it’d have to be the Curvy Scissors and the integrated flashlight. The challenge part of process is observation. If designers cannot observe the core problem that means solution does not make any sense.

Take Curvy Scissors as an example. By using the sociology design method ANT (Actor network theory), we define the problem through transforming the frame of the reference when users try to pick up the scissors from a limited space inside the emergency kit. Normally we pretend using our eyes only but now we are in the eye of object by camera installation and record from the user’s action. The object’s views told us the solution: With a curved handle about six degrees, no matter which side of the scissors, the curvature makes it much easier for us to lift and fit our hands better.

“Nursing kit” is a new generation of family first aid kit that blends into its surrounding furniture and is a part of your daily life. When “Nursing Kit” lifted for use, the emergency sign lights up. To open the device, push down and then turn: The container separates into three sections for sterilization, medication and dressing. The upper part is a light source therefore it can be taken apart to be used as a flashlight. Its universal design component includes the Curvy Scissors, Tape Dispenser, Tweezers Clip and Medicines Cap. Create a rapid, complete and easy-to-use first aid kit. It unites with your daily life naturally not only for complete health care, but also for excellent decoration and illumination.

We focus on the material of lamp cover sponsored by ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute). Simply to say the technology” Application of Light Guiding Plate with Diffusion of Self-Scattering Effect” makes the light source become uniformed from point or local area to whole transparent materials.

Abstract: Dual-phase and dynamic-crosslinking technology is characteristic of light guiding plate and diffuser with self-scattering effect. The nano-diffusing beads provide scattering effect, and LED light source could become uniformed from point or local area to whole transparent materials.

Universal design principles informed the shape of this domestic first-aid kit, which also provides a source of illumination. Furthermore, it was conceived as a decorative object for the home. Nursing Kit is an easy-to-use first-aid kit that offers a secondary lighting function. Its designers observed that the concept of a first-aid kit is not familiar to typical Taiwanese families. Therefore, they sought a form with which affinities could be easily found, and that could be looked upon as an art piece within the home. Their aim was to take care of the physical and spiritual aspects of health.

When it is picked up, the ‘emergency’ first-aid cross lights up. The user opens the kit by pushing down on it and turning. The container is separated into three sections: Sterilization, Medication and Dressing. The ‘lid’ portion functions as a light source, so when the kit is taken apart it can be used as a flashlight. We also design multiple components, ‘Curvy Scissors,’ ‘Tape Dispenser,’ ‘Tweezers Clip,’ and ‘Medicines Cap.’

The ‘Curvy Scissors’ were designed with curved handles that are angled upwards at about six degrees. The curvature makes it much easier to pick up and hold the scissors, no matter which side is used. The ‘Tape Dispenser’ doubles as a mirror base when not in use. The tape can be cut from multiple angles, and easily applied to any part of the body. The ‘Tweezers Clip’ can be used to seal packaging. The wavy surface improves grip.
