Professor Renke He, born in 1958, was educated at Hunan University in civil engineering and architecture. From 1987 to 1988, he was a visiting scholar at the Industrial Design Department of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and, from 1998 to 1999, at North Carolina State University’s School of Design. Renke He is Dean and Professor of the School of Design at Hunan University in China and is also Director of the Chinese Industrial Design Education Committee. Currently he holds the position of Vice-Chair of the China Industrial Design Association.
Jing Ping Lui is currently Dr. and Professor at the College of Mechanical Engineering and Transportation at Hunan University. He has over 25 years on Internal Combustion Engine performance development experiences as well as over 15 years of technical department and program management experiences. He has led over 25 engine performance development, improvements and optimization programs. He published Numerical Simulation Based Engine Performance Development (Science Publisher, 2012) in Chinese. He received his PhD from IC Engine Centre at the National Engineering Laboratory, DTI in the UK in 1995.
Mr. Wu Jian (William Wu) was born in 1979 and got his bachelor of Industrial Design in 2001 and Master of Art in 2009. He joined Haier Group, the Qingdao based major appliance manufacturer, in 2001. During his time with Haier, he worked in multi categories across product design, graphic design, strategy, consumer insight and design management. In 2009 he started to lead Haier’s in-house design team and made it the most powerful driver support. He helped Haier to become the world’s No.1 appliance brand from 2009. Mr. Wu is Deputy President of China Industrial Design Association (CIDA) and member of China National Innovation Consultative committee.
Cathy is a respected leader in the design industry. Under her guidance, CBi has become the primary design research and innovation strategy consultancy in China. She was the first Marketing Director of GE/Fitch China, and the former Project Manager of Haier Design Centre. Cathy has judged numerous renowned design awards, including iF Design Award China and China’s Most Successful Design Award. Her design views have been featured in CNBC, Design (Korea), ID magazine, etc. She has also published two books: Mobile Inspiration and Managing Design for Business Success: Readings & Case Studies on Design Management and many business and design articles.
Prof. Jianghong Zhao was born in 1954 and graduated from Hunan University. From 1982 to 1984, he was a visiting scholar at North Carolina State University, USA. In 1995, he visited Danish Design Center for 6 months to study Danish Design. He is now a professor in domains of design and design research.
