Throw yourself into the music just as you are.
“lullaby lullaby” is the textile audio speaker for the next generation.
It would start to play the music from the moment you would sink down into the product.
Do sink down deeper and embrace the music tightly.
This suggestion could be the new way to interact with the music by utilizing a soft textile as a main material, that could fit in naturally with the body of human beings physically and their five senses sensitively.
2. The Brief: Summarize the problem you set out to solve. What was the context for the project, and what was the challenge posed to you?“”In terms of the relationship between music and human beings, what would you like it to be for the next generation?”"
This is a new suggestion putting the emphasis on that theme.
A decade ago people had listened to the music in front of an audio speaker.
Today they have carried it everywhere with them.
Then, what would you like it to be for the next generation?
We have listened to the music with a hard device before.
This suggestion could be the new way to interact with the music by utilizing a soft textile as a main material.
The most distinctive feature of textile is that it could fit in naturally with the body of human beings physically and their five senses sensitively.
Do sink and be enveloped into the sound, then embrace it.
I’d like to make a suggestion to fuse tactile and auditory interactions.
Human beings have snuggled up to the music by nature, and I think this essential desire wouldn’t fade away even in the future.
The technology will get to evolve faster and faster.
However, on the other hand, what kind of sceneries would we like to hand down to the next generation?
I really focused on finding out the natural ways to listen to the music in that daily life.
In fact, there is a mutual relationship between music and emotion.
Take for example when you encountered the nostalgic music unexpectedly from the TV.
You would be deeply moved in tears and cuddle a cushion at that moment, wouldn’t you?
“Throw ourselves into the music.”
I intended that this suggestion handed down these kind of intuitive and honest emotions to the next generation as well.
It seems conceptual project – but I engaged myself in a lot of prototypes to get a sense in real.
I had a lot of chances to create simple prototypes of the product.
They really made sense to me if it would really work in the way I would imagine.
These exams were mainly for considering 3 points:
1 / Material that touched our skins directly
2 / Meaningful shape with simple functions and structures
3 / Quality of the sound when we sank down into it
In the end, I was engaged in an 1/4 practical prototype.
This prototype was an 1/4 scale one, but it was enough to get the part of our body sank down into it.
In this project, we got a sense of the actual experiences thanks to many prototypes.
5. The Value: How does your project earn its keep in the world? What is its value? What is its impact? (Social, educational, economic, paradigm-shifting, sustainable, environmental, cultural, gladdening, etc.)Considering the fact that the technology will get to evolve faster and faster,
what kind of sceneries would we like to hand down to the next generation?
I would answer to this question with the suggestion, “lullaby lullaby”,
which intermediates between the music and human beings.
It doesn’t promote the sense of mobility or convenience, but honestly could hand down its essential value the music has by nature.
The music would get closer to human beings.
It would probably be an ideal environment in the near future.
Judges enjoyed Lullaby Lullaby’s fresh aesthetic combined with a lateral concept in experiencing music.
