This city bike is hold thanks to the tension of a strap maintaining the frame. This strap is composed of waterproof nylon, kevlar and steel mesh so it is the lock of the bike as well.

The concept is that this bike have two lock systems, when the strap is open you can attach your bike to a fix object in the street, and the second one is the fact that the bike is not in tension anymore because the strap is use as a lock so the frame is sort of dislocated and nobody can use it.

The problem was the bike their in the city. You need a big and heavy lock if you want to keep your bike safe. I decided to work on this project after my internship at Amsterdam where I spent my whole time on a bike. And there, one of my bike has been stolen even with a lock so I decided to work on a double security system.

On this project I wanted to bring a 'fun' aspect. The fix gear is really trendy and its allow people a have their own and personal bike.

I wanted to have this aspect in my project, allow people to have their personal bike. Use part from old bike can allow people to keep part they like as a special saddle or hand bar.

I found most of my insights during my internship at Amsterdam with my experience. But I also went on the field in France to ask people about their bike and how they attach it in the street and also what they think about the current way to lock a bike. I also had some feedback from professional designer during my project, they guide me a bit in my process.

I started with a technical system researches to find out the best way to innovate in the bike field. They I choose my concept and I made it in 3d, I the 3D step I defined the last design.

I earns to keep in the world because it is a new way to use a bike and mainly to lock a bike. It is easier and safer than the current possibilities. It will appreciate by all the people who often use a bike because you earn time thanks to the easiness of the attach system. Thanks to its colored part and its customizable aspect it bring more fun and color in the street of our cities and in all the boring parking place.

You can reuse part from old bike as the fixed gear, that mean you can buy only the frame and not a complete bike, it is better for the production. Less object produced, more sustainable because of its customization.
