Alissa writes about design, architecture, cities, transportation and walking for many publications. She is the urbanism editor at Gizmodo and her work regularly appears in Los Angeles Magazine, the LA Weekly, Dwell, Fast Company, GOOD, T Magazine, and the Los Angeles Times, as well as on the KCRW public radio show DnA: Design and Architecture. In 2010 she was named a USC Annenberg/Getty Arts Journalism Fellow for her writing on design and urbanism, and in 2011 she was awarded an ArtPlace grant for the initiative GOOD Ideas for Cities, where creatives propose solutions to urban problems proposed by city leaders. Alissa lives in a Dodger blue house in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles where she throws ice cream socials, tends to a drought-tolerant garden, and relishes life in L.A. without a car. Carolina is a long-time magazine writer and radio reporter who produced the new blog “Culture: High & Low” at the Los Angeles Times. Prior to this, she worked as a freelancer, producing stories on art, culture and travel for Time, ARTnews, ARCHITECT, Art in America, Fast Company, NPR’s All Things Considered and PRI’s Studio 360. She was also a regular contributor at L.A. public radio affiliate KCRW and, until 2012, was a contributing art critic and reporter for New York Public Radio. Over the course of her career, she has reported on the use of biotechnology in contemporary art, the growing intersection between video games and fine art and the design radicalism of architect Oscar Niemeyer. She blogs about art and culture at C-Monster.net and has been named someone to follow on Twitter by the New York Times. Find her at @cmonstah.

Margaret Wappler wrote about arts and culture for the Los Angeles Times for seven years, and has also published in Rolling Stone, The Believer, LA Weekly, NYLON, JANE magazine and many other publications. Her fiction has appeared in Another Chicago Magazine, Black Clock, Facsimile, Public Fiction and was recently anthologized in Joyland Retro. In 2011, she read from her novel in progress as part of the New American Writing series at the Hammer Museum. In 2013, her essay was included in the anthology, Yes Is the Answer, alongside Rick Moody, Joe Meno and Seth Greenland. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and dog.
