Tennyson is designer, founder and CEO of Livework in Brazil. He is also a bestselling author, public speaker, professor and permanent columnist at Core77 where he pens the Design @ Your Service column. He teaches at the Transdisciplinary Design MFA at Parsons – New York. A lover of cognitive sciences, Tennyson is a certified Hypnotherapist by the NGH, the most prestigious clinical hypnosis organization in the world and has an expert level METT micro-expression recognition certification, by the Paul Ekman institute.

Tennyson was responsible for igniting the Design Thinking and Service Design movements in Brazil and plays a leading role on the Service Design community worldwide.

He recently founded Eise – The School For Service Innovation, an unprecedented startup acceleration through Service Design program and since then has been helping startups integrate design into their daily development routines.

João Batista Ferreira is Head of Institutional Relations, board member and Service Thinker of EISE – The School for Service Innovation, Brazil. He is founder and CEO of J2B Innovation, a consulting firm for business development, innovation culture and branding. He is co-founder and director of communication of RDI – Retail Design Institute, Chapter Brazil. João has a degree in Industrial Engineering from Escola Fluminense de Engenharia in Brazil. He attended courses at the Sorbonne, Paris, in 1968 on Contemporary Social Problems. João was also President of Industria de Refrigeraçao Sao Gonçalo, a manufacturer of commercial furniture, refrigerators and wine cellars with more than 5,000 projects accomplished throughout Brazil, from 1980-1990. João worked for the UN as the General Services Director of the “1992 Global Forum” – United Nations Conference for Environment and Development – UNCED, Rio de Janeiro. He was responsible for the planning, supervision and direction of all services related to customs, accommodation, transportation, food & beverage and security of personnel participating in the conference, which consisted of 2,500 NGOs from 170 countries.

Mauricio Manhães has over 15 years of experience as an ITC project manager and works as a design researcher at live|work Brazil. As a PhD candidate at EGC/UFSC, with the support of CAPES foundation (an agency under the Ministry of Education of Brazil) and Köln International School of Design (Germany), he is researching the impacts of prejudice on the innovation practices of organisations.

Mario is currently working as Design & Innovation Director for Whirlpool Home Appliances in Latin America. He’s responsible for developing innovative products and services through a focused perspective of consumers and their needs.

Born in Santos, Brazil, Mario got his degree in Industrial Design from Mackenzie University in São Paulo. Working within consumer products industry and having faced many different challenges for more than 30 years, he spent most of his time developing human-centered products and services, leading a 40-person team organized by product, experience and advanced design as well as by core, extended and beyond the core innovation.

In the last few months, he has attended and contributed to a dozen of prime line Brazilian media vehicles like Valor Economico, Folha de S. Paulo and O Estado de S. Paulo, all major newspapers, Exame business magazine, Época and Veja, the most read weekly magazines and Harvard Business Review.

As a speaker, Mario presented a framework on a TEDx Talk sponsored by Telefónica São Paulo, live broadcasted to 3,200+ viewers all over the world and spoke on the challenges that huge corporations will face in the future and when smart services will become more relevant to consumers than manufactured products.
