Project goal: design and manufacture the lightest, most flexible elite level lacrosse glove in the market using compression-molded foam technologies.
This is the first time a lacrosse glove (or any protective sports glove we know of), has used a single molded foam back-of-hand component and achieved this high level of finger dexterity, hand mobility, comfort, and protection. That's really the magic of the thing. To have to try it on to fully get it. Would you like me to send you a pair?
(note: traditional protective gloves use hand-sewn blocks of foam and fabric; and until now, that has been the best way to achieve dexterity/mobility, comfort, and protection).
The final glove design was a mountain-high climb (think prototypes, and more prototypes), but the development also required innovative manufacturing techniques created specifically for this project. The techniques used exist nowhere else in the world outside STX and our manufacturing partners.
Not to sound too corporate sales-pitchy here, but... features include:
-SUPERFLEX™ lightweight, flexible design adds protection in key contact zones.
-Unique palm design that features fewer stitch lines for next generation tactile response (meaning... there's not fabric overlap and stitch in the areas where you need the best touch response with the handle).
-DFLKT™ shields on the thumb and back of hand for deflective protection.
-Updated Guard Lock™ strap secures mouth guard when not on the field. (this is a simple little feature that holds a mouthguard when it's not in your mouth).
-Durable, comfortable Ax Suede™ palm with engineered mesh vents (check the photos of the palm!).
-Game ready Taper Fit hugs the fingers to enhance stick feel, then tapers out so the hand can breathe.
