01 is designed for helping the user have enjoyable sleep experience and boost sleep quality, including reduce sleep latency, enhance deep sleep, reduce wake-up drowsy. 01 utilises multi-therapy techniques include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy(Active guidance, Stimulus control, Relaxation), Sound therapy(White noise, Pink noise, Music) and Light therapy for different situations and timing that could maximise the effectiveness and flexibility of the solution. Three-phases: Pre-bed unwind, Deep sleep enhancement, Natural awakening aim to improve the overall experience for the user. Additionally, the app contains various ambient themes (light effect, sound) which aim to help the user improve other activities, such as relaxation, focus, and meditation. The device also could be used as a Bluetooth speaker and a pendant light.
Problems:
Sleep has a direct impact on personal health and social and economic health. Many developed western countries and developing countries are experiencing a decreasing trend in the average duration of sleep and increasingly higher prevalence of sleep issues. The role of sleep plays in chronic disease development and management has profoundly been researched in the past few decades. Especially, various chronic diseases and condition include cardiovascular disease, depression, obesity and type2 diabetes are associated with sleep problems. With a report by Deloitte Access Economics finding over $5.1 billion were spent in healthcare and indirect cost in Australia. In Australia,17% of men and 15% of women experience drowsiness while driving at least every week, and 29% report doing so at least monthly. One-fifth of adults have nodded off while driving, with 5% reporting a motor vehicle accident in the past year because they dozed off. It is common in the younger age group for missing work due to the sleepiness. Also, the younger age group also more likely to make errors at work due to the sleepiness. Human has five stages of sleep; Sleep circle is the alternation of NREM(include two light stages and two deep stages) and REM.
