Finding the eastern mood for slowing time, inspired by the floating water lily on steady water. The gravity deforms created an unbreakable serenity. Adjusting your breath with the serenity mood, those impulsive noises will float slowly to the water surface like the water lily.
The initial design motivation was to ease contemporary well being issues, both physical and mental. When we try to challenge ourselves to keep up the speed of our work, the long-term stresses and excessive fatigue brings us potential harmful sickness, for instance anxiety and bipolar disorder. One cannot feel at ease with these ailments. Furniture as a functional tool to help people use their space can create more opportunities to improve people’s physical and mental activities’ wellbeing.
Tea ceremonies come from Asian culture, an activity that can be both solitary and sociable. It is an event for people to make and enjoy tea, very much itself in the present. This significant function shares similarity with our modern furniture set’s coffee-table. If I can create a piece that evokes the background of asian culture with the mood and emotional impact of a tea ceremony, it can help people to slow down and learn to enjoy their life. In this way, they may be able to getaway from their daily, busy, and stressful life.
