We found that the disabled have a strong self-esteem. They hope they can do some small things within their power. However, the tape measure on the market needs two hands to operate in most cases. Some disabled people have only one hand, so they can't easily use the tape measure for measurement. To solve this problem, we have designed "one hand", which adopts nano adsorption technology, so that the disabled can complete daily measurement with one hand. We pay attention to the group of one hand disabled people and hope to improve their quality of life through detailed product design.

Design Innovation

(1) In terms of technology, "one hand" adopts nanoparticle adsorption technology, so that one person can complete one-handed measurement work. The back of the tape measure is made of nano-foam adsorption pads. Its working principle is similar to the suction cups on gecko feet. The surface of each adsorption pad is composed of a large number of micro-air cells, like miniature suction cups, which can be pressed lightly with one hand. The gas in the extruded part of the airbag is exhausted to form a vacuum, and then the adsorption force is formed to make the tape measure firmly suck the plane.

(2) In terms of user experience, "One-hand" allows users to measure curved surfaces and turning surfaces with one hand, which greatly improves the user experience and happiness of the one-armed disabled person

Appropriate Aesthetics

In terms of shape, "One-hand" adopts the bionic shape of woodpecker as a whole, which is small and cute. In terms of size, the length is about 10cm, which is just right to be grasped by one hand. In terms of color, white and elegant green are used to give people a sense of comfort. On the whole, "One-hand" is simple and beautiful.
