This allows people to take advantage of all the health and smart features the Descent MK2i offers. The waterproofing of the watch impacted the design in several ways. To create room for a more robust gasket the screws were pushed out onto the lugs and notches were added to the circular bezel. This notched design is again echoed on the inner bezel by machining a lower level on the bezel with contrasting brushed and sandblasted finishes. Exterior metal surfaces are treated with a DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating for scratch resistance. The titanium metal bracelet provides a premium appearance and has a built-in diver's extension for wetsuit use. Most dive watches use an o-ring to seal their buttons. Salt deposits and sand can eat away at the o-rings over time as buttons are pressed.
