What would our world look like if we began to approach design as a planet-centered issue as opposed to a human one? With the knowledge that lucrative industries are unlikely, or are slow to evolve, how do we begin to create circular economies and close gaps? Why not take luxurious high thread count textiles that are already in circulation and breathe new life into them? This is where "Ripple" loungewear is born. The effects of the hospitality industry create resounding ripples, yet they don't have to be felt as they are now. Ripple seeks the offset the textile waste of the hospitality industry by consciously expanding the life cycle of bed sheets.
This project was born out of the hope that one-day design and sustainability will be one and the same, two words bound together. Although this is a prototype for a larger-scale production model, I investigated and executed every aspect with sustainability in mind.
