ZSHIELD

The ZSHIELD is a new format face shield originally designed for Service Industry Workers, including restaurant food service workers, workers in retail, grocery stores, food plants, health and beauty, and the selective medical sector. Since its launch in June of 2020, there has been strong acceptance of ZShield by the greater consumer market as well as the entertainment industry in Hollywood.

ZSHIELD was created in response to the COVID 19 Pandemic, and was designed, engineered, tooled and mass-manufactured within a 10-week timeline.

ZSHIELD has been heralded as an incredible achievement by governors and members of the United States Congress.

The ZShield utilizes a unique adjustable neck mount instead of strapping to the head—a design innovation that makes the shield unlike anything that currently exists in the market.

The ZShield is a friendlier and more calming solution to PPE as the world returns to its new normal.

The unique neck mount allows the shield to come from underneath rather than the top of the head. This is more comfortable than wearing something around the head and face, which can cause skin irritation and conflict with hairstyles and facial hair.

ZShield is easy to adjust without touching the face, which is one of the top ways COVID 19 is spread. The thin, clear visor can ratchet into a multitude of positions so that the user can quickly adjust angle desirable to accomplish tasks like talking on the phone.

The ZShield easily removes from the neck via the flexible neck clip, so in the event the shield gets caught on something, it comes right off.

The visor easily disassembles from the neck mount, permitting easy cleaning, reuse, or replacement with a fresh visor, as well as ease of recycling.

The ZShield allows the hearing impaired to read the wearer’s lips.

The ZShield allows for unimpeded head movement—something traditional face shields do not.

The visor protects the face, mouth and eyes from projected respiratory droplets that become airborne when an infected person coughs sneezes or talks.

The Human Head is a very complex set of geometric parameters that vary greatly from person to person. This makes designing a head-mounted wearable very difficult. The ZShield bypasses these complexities completely by thinking differently with the come-from-the-bottom neck mount. This is an unprecedented idea for face shields- a new shield for a new normal.

The ZShield Flex in made from a single material- injection molded Polypropylene, which makes ZSHIELD clean and easy to recycle. The clear visor is made from shatter-proof, fog-less PETG.

The ZShield Flex is mass-produced in Thomasville, North Carolina, United States. By making ZSHIELD in the United States, the need for ocean freight is eliminated, which is very planet friendly.

The ZShield Flex is completely unique in the entire market of PPE solutions and is a first of its kind.

The ZSHIELD has won two 2020 Fast Company Innovation By Design Awards and was the winner of the New York By Design prime time network television show about design innovation on CBS that ran in the fall and winter of 2020.

The New York Times featured ZSHIELD in their article entitled The New Face of Restaurant Hospitality Wears a Mask.

The ZSHIELD is made in the USA with a patent pending.
