Betadine

A visual identity project with a focus on retail packaging for Betadine. The project goal is to create a sustainable and accessible packaging system with functionality and durability for home and outdoor use. With the increasing demand for antiseptic products, Betadine is coming with a fresh identity, that is playful and friendly.

With durability and portability as the main solution to improve the current packaging, the packaging is made with aluminum and algotek with an injection molding process for efficiency. A visual identity system is created to identify Betadine product line to reduce clutter inside first aid cabinets.

As the leading brand in First Aid, Betadine strives to create accessible packaging with functionality and durability to protect its products. Betadine has long become the most widely used antiseptic product in hospitals and personal use. With the increasing demand for antiseptic products, Betadine is coming with a fresh identity, packaging, retail, and digital presence.

The new logomark is inspired by bouldering gears, the carabiners, to reflect the portability and durability of Betadine products. Combined with a bright color palette, Betadine hopes to allow people of all ages to be excited about their next adventures. The label includes a simple icon for each product type, allowing the user to be able to identify the products they need and to reduce clutter inside the first aid cabinets.

The usage of gender-neutral illustrations demonstrates the different ways everyone can easily use Betadine products wherever they are. These illustrations are placed at the back panel of the packaging as well as the point of sales display.

With sustainability and durability as the main solution to improve the current packaging, the packaging is made with aluminum and algotek with an injection molding process. Algotek is a polymer material sourced from seaweed, the final result is a sturdy semi-transparent container that is home compostable. The refillable aluminum case for Sterile Bandage is designed for a second life after the original products are finished.
