easy drink
For children and women, to drink from standard size soft drink cans is sometimes difficult - especially with soda drinks. The reason is that usually only a certain size of the opening is to be found in the supermarket. Now with easy drink we are flexible to adapt to these different needs. The cost of production does not arise a lot, since the principle of easy drink is slightly different from normal cans.
2. The Brief: Summarize the problem you set out to solve. What was the context for the project, and what was the challenge posed to you?Usually when you drink a beverage in a can you would lean the can and bend your head back. In this case, flowing down a large amount of drinks at once you would often shed a drink. Especially if you are a child or a woman with a soda drink it occurs more frequently.
3. The Intent: What point of view did you bring to the project, and were there additional criteria that you added to the brief?I was considering various ways to solve this problem, most important thing is to find a way as simple as possible to produce and use. It was tried to design maintaining the appearance of the existing cans to use the traditional production methods. And it was also designed so that you are aware of how to use intuitively when using easy drink.
4. The Process: Describe the rigor that informed your project. (Research, ethnography, subject matter experts, materials exploration, technology, iteration, testing, etc., as applicable.) What stakeholder interests did you consider? (Audience, business, organization, labor, manufacturing, distribution, etc., as applicable)Firstly i used ordinary cans of various shapes in the supermarket and tried to compare and contrast them. Depending on the product, the shape of the entrance is a little different, but basically there is one entrance of a certain size and it was figured out that with the general usage (leaning the can and bending the head back) it is difficult to adjust the amount of drinks. On the basis of comparison and contrast of existing cans, after various attempts with the number, shape, size and location of the opening the final design was found.
5. The Value: How does your project earn its keep in the world? What is its value? What is its impact? (Social, educational, economic, paradigm-shifting, sustainable, environmental, cultural, gladdening, etc.)It would be possible to provide a wider purchaser group ( children, women, the elderly ) with a convenient way of drinking beverage since it becomes possible to adjust easier the amount of beverage than before. The satisfaction of enjoying the drink also increases because you can adjust the size of the entrance differently depending on the situation. For example, there is the additional advantage to distinguish ones beverage can with the others through the size of opening entrance.
This concept is more related to industrial design than package design, but we were excited to discover the initiative to further improve the ring-pull mechanism. However, we believe that two holes would have been a better solution than three.
