The beginning.

After 13 years working in the tattoo industry, Piranha Tattoo Supplies, with our help, in conversations with several of tattoo artists, spotted a lack in the tattoo gear market. The available options weren't answering to some persistent needs and weren't innovative enough. This created a perfect opportunity to make change happen and enhance the way artists were tattooing.

This was the origin of META. META was structured for change and it's a brand that strives everyday to pursue the evolution that will shape the future of tattoo gear. META - Forged for What's Next.

Research:

Driven by people, META Workstation was designed through a deep and long user-centric approach.

To better understand the tattoo studios environment and tattoo artists context, we conducted a field research within 25 tattoo studios and interviewed more than 200 tattoo artists.

After a profound analysis with all the gathered information, we spotted several problems, struggles and needs - lack of space in the studio, storage, cable management, customization and flexibility.

Design Process:

We worked around the identified problems always with the major goal of having an extremely optimised volume. We inverted the process and started designing the workstation from the inside-out. First, we analysed all the tattoo process, what were the artists needs, in which phases and we make it as much compact as possible. After, finishing the drawers volumetry, we designed the outside of the workstation.

The final iteration of the workstation came after 2 prototypes validated in 2 tattoo conventions. In those conventions, we gathered the necessary feedback from the tattoo artists to refine it and build the final workstation.

After validating the final product, we built a set of accessories to make sure that every artist could build their own workstation tailored to their specific workflow - cable managers, drawer dividers, cups extension, gloves extension and back shelf.

META Workstation uses robust, long lasting materials that guarantee it to be a long-lasting product.A extensive material research was conducted to make sure we fitted required medical certification.

META workstation is 100% well-made in Europe to assure 100% control over the high standards of production.
