PELOTON TREAD

The Peloton Tread is your own private full body fitness studio, allowing people to take live and on-demand group fitness classes from the comfort and convenience of their own homes. It offers the most low-impact running experience for home training. 59 shock-absorbing rubber and aluminum slats roll effortlessly under your feet. Speed and incline is controlled seamlessly by our innovative control knobs positioned perfectly within reach. Live and on-demand cardio and strength workouts are delivered daily from New York’s top instructors via the high definition 32” touchscreen display and 20 watt sound bar. Feel fully immersed when you step on The Tread and achieve new levels of fitness on your schedule. Designed and engineered to bring out your best, The Peloton Tread is your portal into the best in-home total body workout.

The Peloton Tread reinvented the category of treadmill taking into consideration not only running but a total body workout all in the comfort of your home. This underlying premise influenced each decision of the design. Using a 32” touchscreen in a vertical orientation allows the user to view the screen on and off the treadmill with a 170 degree viewing angle, providing the optimal viewing experience for the live content our production studio streams daily. The majority of fitness design is focused on the gym setting while the Peloton product family is designed as a consumer-facing product to be an extension of the home. This allowed for premium design details including durable upholstery-like textiles, custom rolled steel profiles, and beautiful die cast curves which expand our visual brand language. This holistic system leads our users through world class work out experiences in the comfort of your own home.

The Peloton Tread simplifies the interface of the running experience into the three primary functions; speed, incline, and stop. We stripped away the myriad of buttons that are typically seen on a treadmill interface and opted for rolling knobs. The control knobs are the first of their kind, and easily control speed and incline. Placed within the natural running stroke of your arms, you can quickly make adjustments without looking or fumbling around for clunky buttons. A single button in the center of each knob allows users to easily skip full increments and jump into a sprint. Speed and Incline can also be controlled by customizable Quick Hits on the touchscreen. This optimized interface allows users to simply choose a class, spin the knob and begin their workout.

This product expands Peloton's product portfolio beyond the Bike for the first time, cementing the idea that we are a technology and innovation company, not just a spin-bike company. It allows current Bike users to get a new experience from Peloton, encourages runners to experience a Peloton running product for the first time, and gives those looking for a boutique bootcamp workout the chance to do one at home. It drives new subscribers to Peloton and gives an even better offering to existing subscribers.

Peloton is not just a company making connected devices streaming boutique fitness classes, it is an interactive community of users. Friends, family, loved ones, colleagues, complete strangers are connected daily through our platform. They use these classes as a chance to improve and better their lives together. The Tread is a portal into our family of products that help motivate and inspire our users to keep pushing and striving for their best selves. Because of this community, our users find sustained engagement in fitness far beyond the typical gym membership. The Tread enhances this experience by delivering an inviting and compelling workout time and time again.
