LIFT

"LIFT" is a lamp designed for night-time readers. It's a dual-light system that creates a focused but gentle, good quality lighting condition for reading, and a soft, comfortable environment simultaneously.

People don't have appropriate lighting setups for them to read books or smart devices during night times, which causes eye fatigue, uncomfortableness and eventually poor eyesight.

Some people use task lamps or spotlights, which are good for reading because they have a bright and focused ray. But it's too sharp, hard and glaring for reading. They cause eye fatigue easily during night time.

Some people use ambient lighting, which is good for setting up a comfortable interior environment, but not appropriate for night reading as well because it's usually too dim to read or focus. Additionally, ambient lighting may bother someone by your side in the situation when you want to read but the other is trying to sleep.

LIFT is designed to create an appropriate lighting which is not only focused and bright for people to read, but also gentle and soft enough to protect the eyes during the night.

It's designed with two light sources inside: one illuminates upwards (upper light) and the other illuminates downwards (lower light). The upper light and the reflector on the top provide you with focused but gentle light. The reflector reflects and softens the hard glaring light and transfers it into a soft reflected light, creating a higher quality light without losing the brightness level. The lower light and the lampshade on the bottom together create a soft, warm and comfortable environment for you to stay.

The lamp provides the users with a free, easy and comfortable product experience.

The reflected light angle for reading can be adjusted from 0° to 90° easily and freely by rotating the reflector from 0° to 90°. The lamp is also designed with the connected upper and the lower lamp bodies. Users can rotate the upper lamp body 180° freely, directing different light angles as needed.

The lamp is not only designed for solving the problem of night reading and creating a better user experience. But it also focuses on the educational aspect of what is the best lighting condition and environment for readers. Most people think good lighting means the amount and the strength of light, which is not accurate. LIFT project demonstrates and delivers "the quality of light", which is actually what matters in people's daily tasks and living environments during night time. When people move to a new home after experienced with LIFT, they will keep "quality of light" in mind and make changes to improve their living environment.
