This context completely inspired the design process. The final product has an approachable form with soft highlights that fits nicely in your hand. The designers' intent was for it to look beautiful while creating a seamless experience.

Unlike many other consumer products in the TV space, Chromecast disappears in plain sight. The design is soft and approachable and our colors make Chromecast easy to identify while being appropriate in the space. Chromecast is a contrast to the sharp black boxes common in the streaming space.

Every detail of the product has been simplified and refined. The circular form is soft and approachable. The cords were simplified by removing bulky and complex strain reliefs to create a more continuous look. Materials were reconsidered to be more thoughtful of the world around us. The power cable also comes with cable management clip that helps to organize cords behind the TV as we know this is a pain-point for our users.
