Burch Barrel

Food and fire bring people together and our product is designed to optimize that effect. The Burch Barrel represents a paradigm shift in the social and culinary experience of open flame cooking. This style of cooking, sometimes called Santa Maria grilling, has deep roots in the American West where it was traditionally used to host large social gatherings. The Burch Barrel is designed to work as a grill and/or fire pit.

As a grill the Burch Barrel is designed to cook directly over open flame or wood coals but can also be used as a traditional charcoal grill/smoker. The fire pan is adjustable on a track system that gives the user 12" travel between the heat source and the grill surface. The barrel is hung from a tripod which gives the Burch Barrel several unique features that set it apart from conventional grills. You can raise and lower the lid and cooking surface on a cable system attached to a hand release called the pistol grip slider. This gives the user quick access to adjust the coals or add more fuel. It can also get your dinner out of a flare up quickly. The legs of the tripod are adjustable enabling users to set up on uneven terrain. The barrel is hung high enough off of the ground to leave no trace when taken out in the bush or set up on the lawn.

The Burch Barrels vent system is designed with air intakes at the top of the grill as opposed to the bottom. This design reduces the fire hazard posed coals dropping through the vents as in existing grills. Our internal vent system is easy to read and adjust. It can sustain a variety of heats from coals for smoking to billowing smoke free camp fires. This product represents a year and a half of Iterative testing and refinement. The Burch Barrel is made from a combination of high quality cold rolled steel with a durable high heat powder coat finish and brushed 304 stainless steel. The tripod and barrel are designed to be assembled and taken down without employing the use of special tools. Each part is easily replaceable so that the Burch Barrel can be repaired instead of replaced.
