Coachella Music Festival Rebrand

A rebrand of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. A custom geometric grid-based typeface is created as part of the visual identity of the brand, stretching in and out responsively like the pulse of music and energetic moving bodies in the music festival. The primary color scheme is adaptive to work with any colored photography. The limited but inclusive color palette evokes primal instincts and pleasures of enjoying music, and hints at the inclusivity of Coachella's artists, genres, forms of arts, and cultures.

Custom Typeface & Typeface Animation Demo:

The typeface, Coachella Sans, acts as the identity of the music festival and invites limitless opportunities for stretching and framing, therefore responsively adapting to all dimensions of collaterals, a sense of evolution that Coachella has developed. It also expresses elasticity and emotions and reminds people of the dynamics of music.

Wildposting on Mock-up & Artist Posters:

Artist Posters are paired with typographic posters, on which the letterform C from the custom typeface acts as the visual identity.

Passes:

The bulky and concrete typeface also allows the design to claim a statement as a single glyph. The lanyards of the passes takes the form of Coachella Sans on strip.

Website:

The design of the website continues to play with the typeface and 4 colors, as well as the visual treatment of Coachella Sans on a strip. The ever-changing strips capture users' attention, and indicate the ever-changing adaptability and evolution that Coachella has embodied over the years.
