Rapid Machine Operator

The Rapid Machine Operator (RMO) is an intuitive robotic system that removes the barriers preventing U.S. manufacturers from using Industrial robotics for small and medium-sized manufacturers. It's designed to be adaptable using computer vision technology combined with a portable rolling base with reconfigurable tables to make it easy to move and set up for new robotics operations in a factory environment.

Spiraling local labor, machine operator shortages, expensive and inflexible equipment, and costly maintenance are some challenges preventing many small and medium-sized manufacturers in the U.S. from implementing industrial robots presently.

Rapid Robotics created the Rapid Machine Operator (RMO) as an all-in-one robotic automation solution that is affordable and accessible to all major manufacturing sectors. A robotics system can handle 80% of factory floor tasks. It comes pre-trained to perform all sorts of jobs (including pad printing, injection molding, heat staking, heat stamping, ultrasonic welding, pick and place, parts inspection, assembly, and many others). The robotic system can be adapted for any manufacturing setup by utilizing a portable rolling base that allows for endless table configurations.

Rapid Robotics is known for giving small manufacturers access to robotics technologies that would otherwise be out of their reach. The company re-imagined the manufacturing work cell, utilizing a modular approach with an innovative mobile robot pedestal with modular fixturing. These features enables flexibility as the pedestal can be easily moved or reconfigured and re-locked into place by a single person.

Moving the RMO between tasks and setting it up for new ones is extremely easy. The RMO has a rolling base with retractable legs to stabilize the robot base once in its final location. It also has a 60-second setup process leveraging a state-of-the-art computer vision platform and a pre-trained AI capable of learning new operations.

When in a new cell, additional tables can be added to the base to provide more mounting surfaces for additional jigs and fixtures and accommodate unique space constraints for each new application or configuration.

The RMO was designed to minimize environmental impact. It is made with robust materials and construction, allowing it to be redeployed for new clients when a client no longer needs it. The versatility of training the RMO to perform numerous jobs also reduces the need to own multiple robots, decreasing material waste. It was also designed to be visually quite robust while also providing for a striking visual style that will grab people's attention from across a factory floor, thus providing Rapid Robotics with free advertising.

The RMO is made available to manufacturers through a monthly subscription which is a cost-efficient solution to help increase their production, maximize workforce, and expand operations. Rapid Robotics provides a solution that delivers nearly instant ROI and flexibility by allowing companies to rent a robot instead of purchasing new ones.

Rapid Robotic's main customers are small to medium-sized US-based manufacturers trying to survive in an extremely competitive environment with a shortage of skilled labor and a lack of access to advanced robotics solutions. The RMO addresses both these challenges and, in doing so, provides US-based manufacturers with an opportunity to thrive and create prosperity in manufacturing communities in the heartland of the US.

We created an affordable and intelligent robotic worker to help manufacturers grow by making robotic automation easy and affordable, thus enabling Rapid Robotics to further deliver on its promise to end customers.
