Upgrade Philips Hue LED light bulbs' packaging to a modern, clean, and eye-catching look that highlights its quality and differentiates it from the competitors. The new packaging is designed to transmit the light bulb's concept of light and color. We often see light bulb packaging as informative and functional, but it can be attractive and expressive while protecting the product. Through this redesign, I hope the packaging can spark the light for the product.
Philip Hue's product line offers smart light bulbs that allow customers to have full control over the lighting. With a Bluetooth built-in feature, customers can easily set up their lighting and color preferences to create the desired mood. Not as interesting as the product, the current packaging was in a typical look and made of paper board that can be easily worn and torn apart.
For the upgrades, I envision the new packaging, from its lid to its base, is made from recycled plastic waste which is more durable than paperboard. The semi-transparent lid with a gradient color makes the product pop on the shelf while allowing consumers to preview the product. The base features a die-cut hole that mold with the light bulb's head to securely lock in the light bulb from shifting. In terms of the visuals, I intend to keep the design clean and modern. The colors incorporated on the lid correspond to the light color of each type of light bulb. With a simplified and clean graphic layout, customers can easily recognize each type and grasp the information immediately.
