Gobe Kids Co. is a kid's food container company with the central theme of promoting fun and healthy eating-independence for children and providing parents with helpful tools along the way.

Why?

For parents, encouraging their children to eat the right foods can be a moment-to-moment struggle, especially for picky eaters. But, important to this daily cycle is the empowerment of the kids' choice, allowing mealtime autonomy to foster healthy relationships with their little ones and the food they love.

The Idea

In early 2021, a new concept was needed within the Gobe product ecosystem. Something that provides more options for parents outside the stroller and away at school. The flagship product, the snack spinner, was already a market success and was quickly becoming adopted as the best new way to snack. We wanted to build from that foundation, integrating more storage and ease of use against the competition. Our design input involved refining the existing design of the snack spinner and incorporating the storage expansion to give the lunchbox its unique look and feel. Combined with the snack spinner, the Gobe lunchbox design provides a natural evolution with a growing child. As kids grow, they want products that match their level of independence.

The Process

It begins with the parents. We sought to involve group focus sessions in every step of the research and development stages to gather feedback, improve on needs, and craft a vision of the perfect second offering that everyone would be proud to use. Within a year of development and many tested prototypes, the Lunchbox came to life to meet the growing needs of kids and parents.

The Product

Launching in early 2023, The Gobe Lunchbox today is hailed by customers in the category of kids' hard-shell lunchboxes. It is available in Walmart, Target, and Sam's Club across the United States and is currently Amazon's choice amongst competing brands.
