In an era of increasingly scarce resources, huge living spaces as well as products are becoming luxury. Bridge tries to use the redesign of the kitchen to answer the question, how to ensure quality of life with less resources and space? To do so, we decomposed and reconstructed the form and distribution of the kitchen starting from the cooking needs, keeping and strengthening only the most important functions, which saved a lot of material. Thanks to the shape of the shelves, the kitchen is easy and quick to organise and dismantle without the use of tools. And we also wanted the kitchen to serve as an important center of communication, providing challenging and fun daily activities while increasing the joy of communication and collaboration in the cooking process.
The product consists of three parts: two ladder-shaped support columns and three functional modules, which are supported and connected to the middle functional area by a ladder-shaped structure on both sides. The product can be assembled by two people with their bare hands. The leveling of the operating surface can be adjusted by adjusting the feet of the support columns. The user rotates the feet at the top of the ladder to fix the product between the ceiling and the floor by pressure.
The worktop module serves as the central functional component of the kitchen, consisting of a stainless steel plate and wooden cabinets underneath. The stainless steel surface integrates the structure of the sink, making it easier to clean due to its integral molding. The cabinets underneath are designed as space to place appliances. The connection of appliance wires and water pipes is solved through the same gap.
The range hood and lighting module is the only module that connects to the power supply. It not only meets the air filtration requirements but also provides sockets for other appliances. It also provides a certain amount of storage space.
The storage board is a module that can define its position and quantity according to the needs. It is mainly used for vertically storing essential items to maximize vertical space utilization and meet the storage needs of small spaces
