Rama Chorpash
Industrial Designer and Director of Product Design at Parsons the New School for Design
Rama Chorpash Design focuses on the exchange between people and everyday things. Embedded in each design is an exploration of social use and the interactions they cause. His work has been widely published, from The New York Times Style Magazine to Metropolis, and his projects have been exhibited coast to coast, from the Museum of Modern Art to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and internationally, from Portugal’s Bienal da Prata to Switzerland’s Design Miami/Basel Art Fair. As Associate Professor and Director of Product Design at Parsons the New School for Design, Chorpash’s design discourse extends from this academic setting to confront ostensibly contradictory issues such as manufacturing and sustainability, materialism and equity, consumerism and need, as well as globalism and localism.
