PROGRESSIVE CATEGORIES

 
One of the most exciting differences between the Core77 Design Awards and the typical awards program is the long-overdue inclusion of several categories of design effort. In addition to the usual suspects, we’ve added Service Design, Design for Social Impact, Educational Initiatives, Speculative Objects, DIY, and our wild card, Never Saw the Light of Day (honoring projects completed, yet killed in 2010). Furthermore, Core77 has always paid a special attention to students. Rather than putting everyone into the same bucket, eight of the professional categories has a corresponding student section: 15 categories, 23 trophies. All well-earned.
