Plastic Ride Electric Sustainable & Recycled Micromobility
Plastic ride was born as a solution to one of the largest problems we are currently facing, pollution. I am from Mexico city, one of the largest capitals in the world, where traffic is increasing on a daily basis. Plastic ride is an e scooter made of recycled plastic, with this we create new value to the used plastic and avoid pollution made by using raw or virgin materials.
At the moment many of us are receiving packages at home. However there is a lack of understanding how this delivery negatively impacts the environment. For example, Amazon revealed that in 2018, the emission from its deliveries was 44.5 million tons of CO2. So how are we able to reduce this and create greener and healthier cities.
PLASTICRIDE is a sustainable and circular micro electrical scooter which you can use everywhere. It is fun to ride and it can serve in multiple ways; as a gadget for tourists, as a personal scooter, and it can serve as a last mile delivery service reducing Co2 Emissions.
In the future benefits are reducing traffic, improve air quality and improve the productivity of journeys currently made on foot, bicycle, motorcycle or in a car. Plastic Ride is fast, light weighted and sustainable. By using recycled plastic from the automotive industry
We use rapid prototype techniques, design thinking, cad cam solid software and solid plastic to validate the frame factibility, lathes, mills, cnc machining, laser cut, in order to produce this 4th prototype.
Plastic Ride will be affordable for a lot of people. The manufacturing will take 3 minutes per unit and within this process, welding machines and toxic paints will be avoided. This scooter is designed with only essential parts, all unnecessary accessories and complicated mechanisms are being excluded so there is no need of expensive maintenance. To give an example with the plastic of 1 car, 5 Plastic Rides can be created.

This project is the result of a master's thesis in business, innovation and creativity that I studied from September 2018 to January 2020 at www.centro.edu.mx. I am from Mexico City and we have many scooter rental applications ( but we have a lot of problems about regulations), for which we gave ourselves the task of doing anthropology, design thinking, design iterations, quantitative and qualitative research and we took all the methodology of the master's degree, giving as a result: Plastic Ride.
It is about attacking one of the biggest pollution problems that we have in Mexico City and helping the environment to obtain green and organized cities.
This was possible thanks to the experience we have in the construction and design of molds and dies (because our core business is manufacture of aluminum cake molds)
It Tooks Many hours of training and design, we are experts in the manufacture of plastic injection molds and we have relationships with companies that recycle plastic from the automotive industry more specifically; Nylon 66 or polyamide.
We can produce a frame every 3 minutes and thus scale it to all the capitals of the world
We want to show the world that we can reuse used plastic and integrate it in to the society, at the end of 5 or 6 years you can recycle this frame model into the newest model, so we want to be circular in our process abiding use raw or new materials
The frame is so strong that it resist 320 Kg (validated from Solid works 2020).
