Grow N Glow is an intelligent countertop garden designed to bring a breath of nature and sunshine to urban homes. It works as a grow light for raising edible plants from seed to harvest. The grow light resonates with an ambient glowing light that they together vividly light up your kitchen. The glow light also serves as the assistant to tell you when to change the water and add nutrients. Grow N Glow comes with 6 soil pods with your choice of seeds. Energy-efficient LED grow lights ensure the plants can grow happily in any condition.

The structure includes:

The light canopy:

The product has two energy-saving LED light sources. One is the grow light integrated to face toward the plants. The other is the glow light combined on the opposite side directing outward. The LED component selection is the ring-shaped panel, aiming to deliver light evenly to the plants and the room.

For the purpose of creating an ambient lighting effect in the room, the light shade is designed to be dome-shaped with a cloudy finish. The very top dome feature serves as a "call-to-action" button. People can easily pat the dome button to turn on/off the light. The shades will be made out of translucent compostable plastic.

The light canopy is easily height adjustable to fit various plant heights through the simple action of pulling.

The water tank:

In order to provide easy assembly, two half tanks come together in the middle. They will be made out of translucent compostable plastic. The water tank consists of 6 removable soil pod holders. This design allows users to take out one entire plant for harvesting cloning without damaging the roots or damaging neighbor plants.

The electronic component base:

All the wires, panels, and other electronic components are hidden inside the base. The base is designed to provide enough capacity. The base will be made out of compostable plastic as well.

Form & Aesthetics:

The form design goal is to create an iconic yet residential smart garden. The form languages of light shades from the classic 70s inspired me a lot. The aesthetics is clean and light-weighted on visual so that people can enjoy more on their greeneries.
