NOMAD is a digital musical instrument born from the desire to create music on-­the-­go. Designed to be thrown in your backpack and bring your musical creation to life, anytime, anywhere. We live in this new age as nomads. We travel from city to city, country to country, continent to continent, all with such ease. Yet travel also has its challenges. Sometimes we experience barriers such as language and culture. Other times we just need a small reminder of home to remind us of where we come from.
Music is a form of expression that allows one to communicate beyond barriers and bridge divides, but to do so you need an instrument that is a true nomadic companion.
Designed to encourage mobility and adventure, the minimalistic form and flexible Smart Strings make NOMAD portable and durable. The wooden neck creates a familiar feel, yet there are no strings to break or tune. It is a clever combination of both digital and analog, combining the familiarity of a classic guitar with the possibilities hidden within a digital musical instrument. Featuring an endless variety of musical instruments, sound settings are controlled through its app.

Nomad can be played through headphones or connected wirelessly to the portable amplifier in order to share your musical creation with others. Designed as a pair, the amplifier doubles as a case cover, protecting and complementing the instrument. NOMAD was designed to age with grace and just like traditional musical instruments, over time, become unique and personalized by you.

Project Details

The inspiration behind Nomad comes from a deep understanding of the new age we live in. We are more mindful of the objects we surround ourselves with. We strive to travel light and collect experiences more than things. Own less, explore more.
NOMAD is a digital instrument, therefore it doesn't use a sound box in order to generate music. The iconic shape of a guitar has been distilled into a minimalistic portable form. The pressure sensitive frets and flexible Smart Strings preserve a traditional playing experience. Designed to be durable, NOMAD's strings never break or get out of tune. You can practice, perform or just fill the space around you with your musical creation.
