The industry's first wireless handheld imaging laser scanner

From Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, comes the BLK2GO. It is the industry's first wireless handheld imaging laser scanner. It allows users to scan spaces, structures, and objects simply by walking through the space while holding the lightweight device. Its one-button operation instantly captures the dimensions with dual-axis LiDAR and panoramic imaging and turns them into colorized and dimensionally-accurate 3D point clouds. The data gained from the BLK2GO can be used for documenting a space or location, creating 3D models, surveying, and designing new buildings or retrofit and remodels. The BLK2GO uses SLAM technology via a combination of LiDAR, imaging, and an inertial measurement unit to orient itself and map 3D spaces in real-time.

Primary users are architects, engineers and construction (AEC) professionals, location scouts and visual effects engineers in media and entertainment, and surveyors and plant managers.

Key features:

*Simple to use one-button operation makes it it easy for anybody to use.

*Optional (but recommended) BLK2GO Live app on iOS provides live 2D and 3D visualization while scanning, along with high resolution images.

·A fully enclosed dual-axis LiDAR dome capable of capturing 420,000 points per second.

·A 12 megapixel detail camera for high contrast imagery plus three panoramic cameras for visual navigation via SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), point cloud colorization, and capture of panoramic imagery.

·The GrandSLAM feature is a combination of high-speed dual axis LiDAR, multi-camera vision system, and an inertial measurement unit that makes the product self-orienting and capable of fully mapping a previously unknown space.

·Weighs 1.7 pounds with battery. The matte-finish aluminum construction allows for freedom of movement. The handle contains WLAN connectivity, a rechargeable battery capable of 45 minutes of continuous scanning, data storage for up to six hours of scans, a USB-C port for fast and wireless data transfer, and edge computing.

·The multi-colored and multi-segmented light guide that encircles it is simple, intuitive, and provides user guidance.

·Easy to clean up data, combine multiple data sets from multiple capture sessions, and export the data in different formats.
